Michael Richards Racist Tirade

Fans at the West Hollywood ‘Laugh Factory’ were treated to an unexpected part of Michael Richard’s stand-up act.

The Kramer

After being badgered by several patrons who were heckling him, he exploded in a bigoted tirade that has to be seen to be believed. Yahoo News reports.

The tirade apparently began after two black audience members started shouting at him that he wasn’t funny.

Richards retorted: “Shut up! Fifty years ago we’d have you upside down with a f—— fork up your a–.”

He then paced across the stage taunting the men for interrupting his show, peppering his speech with racial slurs and profanities.

“You can talk, you can talk, you’re brave now mother——. Throw his a– out. He’s a n—–!” Richards shouts before repeating the racial epithet over and over again.

Hmm, it’s hard to deal with hecklers. Obviously he’s not very good at that, and he didn’t take the right tack. I suspect Kramer was trying to be edgy. I think he could have gotten away with mocking or putting them down for being black, but unfortunately, he chose the wrong word. He should have known better from a comedian’s standpoint. Still, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. He and Mel should take this on the road. If they’re wise, they’ll add Jesse Jackson, and debut in Hymietown!

Thelma, I think Richards just wasn’t thinking, and based on the tenor & tremble in his voice, I think he wasn’t what we would call ’sober’ either. A classic case of a severe disconnect between what he thought may have been funny in his mind, and what the rest of the planet found funny. Actually, this is the most publicity he has enjoyed in almost a decade – my guess is he runs with it!

JayTee, I think he didn’t have all his faculties when this happened. To be fair, there is probably a chance that a couple of those faculties were left behind in the late 1970s somewhere! In any event, I think this little act probably sounded a lot funner inside of his fertile mind than it did when it spewed out into our 3-dimensional world. I agree, he may very well parlay this notoriety into some $$$. That’s the American Way!

I believe you’re right, V.V., when you point to the probability of some judgment-clouding elixir. Maybe next time he’ll keep it simple, and just taser ‘em!

jaytee, now *that* would have been funny! hahah I must say, I had not had time to watch the routine at work before I commented. Yes, some elixir was most probably enjoyed prior to the show.

And while administering our kind of justice, be sure to shout out loudly and often: “HERE’S Your Patriot Act !!!
