Tonight, Barack Obama said “I believe the nation that invented the automobile cannot walk away from it.”
That stuck out like a sore thumb to me. Evidently, Barry didn’t know that the credit for the modern automobile (with an internal combustion engine) is widely acknowledged as the invention of Karl Benz, who designed, patented, and built the world’s first practical automobile in Germany, 1885.
I suppose Obama’s constituency doesn’t know the facts, either, and more importantly doesn’t care about the facts.
And for that matter, maybe Barry thinks he is leading Germany, too?
Well, besides being a master politician and legitimate contender for the next leader of the free world, Barack Obama took time from one of his recent self satisfied speeches to offer his audience some crackerjack auto maintenance tips!
Obama minimizes the benefits of new domestic oil drilling by stressing the importance of good auto maintenance. He says we can achieve the same energy savings if we all inflate our tires properly and get regular tune-ups.
I suppose that despite his tippy-top intellectual training at Harvard Law School, Barry can’t grasp the concept that you can get a double benefit by both drilling and keeping your car well maintained.
