She’s not a doctor, but plays one at Town Hall Meetings

Leave it to some wide-eyed liberal doctor -- who has been in general practice for four years -- to get up at one of Rep Shelia Jackson Lee’s Town Hall Meetings and lob a softball question!

The problem is that our friends at the Patterico’s Pontifications blog did a little digging, and found out that the self-described ‘general practitioner’ has no medical degree and no medical practice.

The Lone Star Times dug deeper and revealed that, while Roxana Mayer isn’t a doctor, she certainly is a Barack Obama campaign volunteer.  The Lone Star Times managed to get this confession out of Mayer:

Our own David Jennings secured a phone interview, in which Mayer admitted to impersonating a physician, saying — get this — she thought it would help her credibility. (It didn’t.)

Patterico’s Pontifications managed to get this screen capture from The Houston Chronicle’s report of the event, capturing the moment when Mayer and Rep Lee evidently find true love.

roxana mayer pediatric primary care physician Phony Liberal Exposed For Her Deceit

After some third-party fact checking and digging (it’s called journalism), The Houston Chronicle changed the caption and identified her as Roxana Mayer, sans “a pediatric primary care physician.”

What is it with Obama and his supporters? How can they have so little regard for the truth? That is, how can they lie so easily with such straight faces? Barry has lied again and again in his slogging for his health care bill. Maybe it’s because he and his supporters know that the media will protect him. Imagine if Dubya tried to get away with this kind of prevarication!

Jaytee, there is no rational explanation for their antics. They have more political power and influence than they have had in decades, and they still are dissatisfied, like true underachievers, I suppose. There is no excuse for them to crack up, but indeed they are cracking up. Works for me.

What they should have reported is how this woman was a plant instead of just changing the caption. Twits.

One of my favorite town hall moments this summer is when Senator Claire McCaskill decides to give her voters a reprimand. For her trouble, the crowd assured her that they don’t trust her.
