News Corp Pulls Plug on OJ “If I Did It” Book/TV Special
Now We Won’t Find Out How He Would Have Done It
Word just broke that the increasingly controversial OJ Simpson book “If I Did It,” where the football legend and movie star speculates exactly how he would have killed his wife and Ron Goldman “if he did it,” has been canceled by the publisher. The 2-part TV interview scheduled for a week from today has been canceled, also.

I guess they ran this one up the flagpole and nobody saluted, as we say in the corporate world!
I had no plans on watching it nor buying the book, but at the same time i figured the tv interview was going to be a huge hit. Folks eat this stuff up. I guess some serious heat came down.

Oh No! Now we’ll never know if he might have done it or not!
This I found surprising because people do eat this kind of stuff up. But in the end, it is pretty sick to give publicity to this kind of “speculation”(?) while the Brown and Goldman families have to relive the horror of losing a loved one to a violent murder. Was this decision actually based on the right thing to do?
JayTee, I suppose we will never find out, now!
Thelma, I suspect the heat inside at News Corp was getting uncomfortable. Maybe some advertisers were pulling, and they just didn’t want to be associated with this whole thing.
I would be extremely surprised, however, if the book and, more so, the video don’t turn up somewhere . . . .
Yes, the book & video might turn up on QVC or HSN. Or better yet, as an infomercial: If you order the book within the next 15 minutes, we will throw in the (instructional?) video & a Ginsu knife free of charge!!! Order now, don’t delay!
Gee, Thelma, I’m sure you’ll agree that these days, the last thing anyone’d want is to take a knife from O.J.! Besides, he couldn’t ship them to us, because I’m sure he wouldn’t have any idea at all where they could be found.
My dear Jaytee, no, he wouldn’t have any idea at all. It would all be sheer speculation, just like his book. :-P
