Jaytee,

You are a genuine seer, who no doubt gives ol' Nostradamus a run for his money! Kudos! I'll sign on to your predictions any day of the week!

Now, who do you like in the 5th at Aqueduct? Today's opening day of the session, you know. ;-)

Thanks for the insights, Thelma. Something tells me Doc Watkins probably knew a whole lot more about "hello girls" than he was letting on!

That's an intriguing idea, V.V.! Here are a few predictions from me as well:

1) Brain implants will be available that will enable us to view television programs, movies and online videos directly in our minds. If you want to see a 20 second video of a man getting hit in the zoidtron with a zero-grav football, or President Hillary Clinton III's latest speech, or "Shrek v. MechaGodzilla" all you have to do is close your eyes and wish! People who foolishly choose not to get this implant will be forced to read and think. A horrible fate!

2) Women will be increasingly freed from gender stereotypes, and will become so empowered and insightful that they will choose an until now unheard-of fate for all of humanity: men will get up everyday and go to work to earn money for the family, while women stay home, cook dinner and mind the kids! Weird!

3) Apes will indeed eventually come to rule mankind, but because of their fatal genetic predispositions, the still human-controlled giant multinational rollerskate, cigar, and tuxedo manufacturers will become so powerful that they lead a revolt that leads to man's victory! Unfortunately, on the downside, human women will learn to talk again. It's just the price we'll have to pay!

"Most of all, though, I think what this article proves yet again, is that ladies can’t resist the ramblings of a smooth-talking rogue."

You are correct Jaytee! hahahahah The Gift of Gab is a VERY powerful weapon.

"I am somewhat troubled by his obsession with giant fruits..."

As best said in the old SNL skit, sometimes a banana is just a banana! ;-)

Very true. I enjoyed this article as much for its prescience as well as for how off the mark some items were. But on balance, the author did very well!

I say we start our own predictions right here for the year 2107! I've been meditating on this and have come up with this for starters:

1. Teleportation: Travel will be revolutionized later in this century when teleportation booths replace commercial air travel. Pay your fare, step into a booth, and ZAP - you're at your destination anywhere around the globe moments later in a teleportation booth at your destination. This invention will also revolutionize commercial shipping and mail & document delivery.

A computer controlled biofilter will be developed to avoid problems like we saw in 'The Fly.' This will end up having an astonishing unintended result: scientists and programmers will discover that they can craft the biofilters to remove some diseases, physical ailments and conditions, etc. So in the disassembling of the molecules, certain physical problems will be filtered out before reassembly, solving many (and maybe most) medical issues.

The catch will be that the filter can remove stuff like artery plaque, cancerous forms inside the body, damaged kidney cells, etc, but it can't actually replace something that has been lost, like a limb, or even hair.

Yeah, Doc Watkins did hit the nail on the head in more than a few instances! I am somewhat troubled by his obsession with giant fruits and vegetables, though. And funny how he did not forsee the potential for commercial air travel. Thelma beat me to it, but I was going to remark myself on my happy memories of a few interventions by "hello girls"!

I am glad you enjoyed this article, Thelma. I found it fascinating and in many instances unusually prescient. And in other cases, pretty far off base. But on balance it's a great job.

"Oranges will grow in Philadelphia."

That would make a good title for a book.

#27 – THE PATCH!!! Dayum, I wish someone would predict MY future as accurately as this guy.

#29 – The hovercraft! Not quite NY to Liverpool but close enough for me….Dover, England to Calais, France—what an exhilarating ride!

#27–Ultrasound and MRIs. This guy surely did some time travel….Back to the Future?

Sorry I hijacked the comments section, but I did enjoy reading this post!
