Knock Three Times by Tony Orlando & Dawn
…twice on the pipe means you ain’t gunna’ show

Knock Three Times is a popular song recorded by Tony Orlando and Dawn. It was released as a single in November 1970, paired with their other hit song Candida. The single hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1971 and eventually sold nine million copies, also claiming the number one spot on the UK Singles Chart.
It’s a little known fact on this side of the Atlantic, but the song is actually a remake (with English lyrics) of a popular Italian pop song of that era.
Enjoy Tony Orlando and the beautiful and talented Dawn, Telma Hopkins and Joyce Vincent Wilson.

Some Tony Orlando & Dawn Trivia: Dawn’s very own Telma Hopkins contributed to the classic song Theme from Shaft. She voices the line “Shut your mouth!”
An’ I can dig it! This group is just full of surprises. My personal favorite of their many hits, though, is in fact, “Candida.” We all know Telma had gone on to a long and very successful career in television, but I always wondered what happened to Mrs. Joyce Vincent Wilson (as I seem to recall her referring to herself)? Gotta say, I always had more of a thing for her than Telma. Either way, that’s a Dawn I wouldn’t mind waking up to!
Candida is indeed a wonderful song, too. Lots of great tunes and memories from this group.
It’s funny you mention but I was always partial to Joyce, also. Taking nothing away from Telma, of course, who is a foxy woman, too. In any event, I’m with you pal – to be greeted by that Dawn on a morning would certainly mean a great day is ahead. Not to mention, the prior night must have been memorable, too!
OK you guys, you take the gal or gals “Dawn,” :tremble: but Tony is all mine; got it? ;-) We’ll Knock Three Times while singing Candida, then we’re gonna Tie Yellow Ribbons….well you guys can use your imaginations about where those Yellow Ribbons will be (tied). Who-hoo! :-)
NWBerry, that’s certainly fair enough! :-)
;-) As you always state; “Fair is fair! I dig it!
