New ‘Star Trek’ Movie Cast Shapes Up
But still no James T. Kirk
Yahoo reports that the cast for the movie re-launch of Star Trek is shaping up.
Rumors abound as to what the story is about. It does appear that Nero is the bad guy, and will be a Romulan. This is an early adventure of the Enterprise crew, but the presence of Captain Pike complicates things for oldschool fans like me.
Seems the whole project is to make Trek ‘cool’ for a new generation of young, disrespectful, & unemployed slackers. Seems as good a financial bet as any, at this point, though.
I don’t have a good feeling about this, but I’ll give it a shot when it comes out on Christmas Day, 2008.

Thelma, I hope they don’t play futuristic hip-hop songs at the Starfleet rec center!
Jaytee, I think that guy was in a few old Twilight Zones. One is on a plane with a monster on the wing and is very good.
Another has to do with a young couple held captive by a fortune telling machine at a diner, one of the dumbest TZs ever.
That guy’s a pretty good actor and singer!
hahahahah…yeah, you gotta love his songs. They do make me go into fetal positon and suck my thumb, though.
Sadly, I think Thelma may be on to something. There hasn’t been a hip hop Star Trek theme… yet. Cross yourself and pray it never happens! As far as clothing goes, I’m guessing it’ll be thongs and baby doll tee shirts, and of course, boots, for the women and bicycle shorts and muscle tees for the men.
And, sorry, but nothing can touch “The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins”!!
