He calls the resort where the AFL-CIO leaders are partying with the union worker’s money and dues. Can he get through to the expensive poolside cabanas? Do the shi-shi restaurants at the resort have crabs? Will the Democrats in Congress condemn these union bosses? Listen and find out!
It should be clearer every day that President Barry is in over his head. Watch his Cliff Notes knowledge of economics and the stock market at work here. Yes, it might fool gullible college students (and overgrown college students well into their 50′s and older). But it won’t fool us.
For the record, I think he is right and wrong. He is right, long term the markts are a great investment. He is wrong, now is not the time to buy. It’s going to bottom out much more, I think, with a DOW of around 5,000, and unemployment not positively reacting to this stimulus spending and reaching highs of 9-10% before the end of 2010.
If we shift gears, it may get better after then. If not, more of the same, I suspect. Wait and see.
Looks like the smarty pants folks over at Newsweak let one slip by their steel trap minds. In this week’s issue, dedicated to shilling for President Barry (as usual), they ran a photo of their fearless leader and inadvertently included the caption ‘The Confidence Game.’
Evidently, nobody at Newsweak knows that a ‘confidence game’ is defined as…
confidence game –noun
any swindle in which the swindler, after gaining the confidence of the victim, robs the victim by cheating at a gambling game, appropriating funds entrusted for investment, or the like.
Also called, British, confidence trick.
More colloquially, a ‘con game.’
Yes, Newsweak is right, but for the wrong reasons!
Laugh as Vice President Joe Biden (‘Plugs’ to his detractors) forgets the ‘website number’ of the site dedicated to tracking the Democrat Stimulus Legislation spending.
Tonight, Barack Obama said “I believe the nation that invented the automobile cannot walk away from it.”
That stuck out like a sore thumb to me. Evidently, Barry didn’t know that the credit for the modern automobile (with an internal combustion engine) is widely acknowledged as the invention of Karl Benz, who designed, patented, and built the world’s first practical automobile in Germany, 1885.
I suppose Obama’s constituency doesn’t know the facts, either, and more importantly doesn’t care about the facts.
And for that matter, maybe Barry thinks he is leading Germany, too?
Rick Santelli of CNBC lays the smack down on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade earlier today, taking Obama and his Democrat acolytes to task for a foolish economic policy. Does it make sense to subsidize bad and irresponsible behavior? Is it moral to use responsible taxpayer money to bail out irresponsible losers? Does Obama’s strategy encourage good behavior or bad behavior?
President Barack Obama waves and learns the door on Marine One is much shorter than he is, and bumps his head slightly, Monday, Feb 9, 2009, as he leaves for a trip to Andrews Air Force Base, Md. and then onto Elkhart, Ind. to hold a town hall meeting on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan
With the Obama Administration rolling into town, we’re starting a new series here at The SSC. In this series we will keep tabs on the lunacy that the Hope & Change crew will regularly bring to the USA!
Our first entry is the smarts and wisdom imparted by Speaker of The House, Nancy ‘Ma’ Pelosi. At a speech, the ‘www.speaker.gov’ herself noted that 500 million Americans lose their jobs every month. That’s quite an accomplishment, given that the entire US population is about 300 million. Indeed, her figures suggest that we are on a pace for 6 billion Americans to be out f work by the end of 2009. Hooverville’s coming right up!
Take a look at the video for yourself.
I have always felt that Ma Pelosi was in way over her head as Speaker of the House. In a fair and just world, she would be better suited to run a brassiere store in Astoria Queens.
