King of Men Devises Contest for Mistresses

I admit that I like this guy’s style!  Read the whole story at CNN

Chinese mistress contest takes tragic turn

chineseskyline Chinese mistress contest takes tragic turnA married Chinese businessman who could no longer afford five mistresses held a competition to decide which one to keep.

But the contest took a fatal turn when one of the women, eliminated for her looks, drove the man and the four other competitors off a cliff, Chinese media reported.

The spurned mistress died and the other passengers were injured, the reports said.

Police initially thought the car had plummeted off a mountain road in eastern China on December 6 by accident. Then they learned of the contest through a letter the dead woman had left behind, the Shanghai Daily newspaper said.

The 29-year-old woman, identified only as Yu, was a waitress when she met the businessman at a restaurant in the coastal city of Qingdao in 2000.

At the time, the businessman, identified only by his last name — Fan — was married and had four other mistresses, according to the Peninsula Metropolis Daily newspaper in Qingdao.

The women knew of one another, but none elected to break up with the man and give up their rent-free apartment and a 5,000 yuan ($730) monthly allowance, the reports said.

When the economy soured, the businessman apparently decided to let go of all but one mistress.

He staged a private talent show in May, without telling the women his intentions. An instructor from a local modeling agency judged the women on the way they looked, how they sang and how much alcohol they could hold, the Shanghai Daily said.

The judge knocked out Yu in the first round of the competition based on her looks. Angry, she decided to exact revenge by telling her lover and the four other women to accompany her on a sightseeing trip before she returned to her home province, the media reports said.

It was during the trip that Yu reportedly drove the car off the cliff.

Fan shut down his company after the crash and paid Yu’s parents 580,000 yuan ($84,744) as compensation for her death.

The four other women left him, as did his wife when she learned of the affairs.

Brutal Chimp Attack Sends Woman To Hospital
Witness Says Chimp Bit Woman’s Hands Off

chimp attack Human Simian War SimmersPolice said a 15-year-old chimpanzee kept as a pet mauled a woman visiting the owner and left her with serious, “life-changing” injuries.

They told TV station WFSB the 200-pound chimp, named Travis, had been rambunctious all day and expressed to its owner, 70-year-old Sandra Herold, that it wanted to take a ride in the car.

Police said the chimp grabbed the keys and let himself out of the house. Herold tried to calm the chimp down by giving him tea laced with Xanax, but it didn’t seem to work, police said. Herold then called her 55-year-old friend, Charla Nash, to help.

Stamford police said when Nash pulled up to the house, the chimp ran over and mauled her. Officials called the attack “lengthy and vicious.”

Herold called 911 and went to help her friend. Police said she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the animal, whom she owned for nearly 15 years, repeatedly before police arrived.

Police said Travis can be heard screaming during Herold’s 911 call.

Police said Nash was transported to Stamford Hospital with life-threatening and “life-changing” injuries. Neighbors told Eyewitness News that the chimp bit the woman’s hands off.

“He bit off both her hands, I guess,” said Herold’s friend, Lynn Mecca. “The cop said he was biting her face … it’s terrible. I don’t want to talk about it.”

Police said Travis then ran over to the police cruisers and broke a mirror off one of the vehicles. They said the animal then opened the cruiser door and moved as though he was going to attack an officer.

The officer shot the chimp at close range before the animal ran off, police said.

Here comes Nassur, the friendly Jihadist bear

Friendly bear declares his own personal war against the Zionists!

Well, as readers of The SSC know, Assud, the homicidal Jew-eating Hamas rabbit, perished during the recent IDF attacks on the Gaza Strip.  It was inevitable that he would be replaced by another family friendly character.  Sure enough, Nassur, the cuddly Jihadist bear, hit the screen this past Friday.

nassur Here comes Nassur, the friendly Jihadist bear

No doubt he will entertain kids throughout the Middle East until his antics catch up with him and he dies a horrible death, too!

Nassur: “I will join the ranks of the Izz A-Din Al-Qassam [Hamas'] Brigades. I will be a Jihad fighter with them and I will carry a rifle. Do you know why, Saraa?” Saraa: “Why?”

Nassur: “To defend the children of Palestine, the children who were killed, the children who were wounded, the orphaned children. That’s why, from this moment, I declare war on the criminal Zionists. Not only me, me and you. You are ready, right, Saraa?” Saraa: “We are all ready to sacrifice ourselves for our homeland!”

Special thanks to my friend Palema Geller for posting this video on YouTube.   You can read her excellent blog at Atlas Shrugs.

OBAMA 1260 Radio in DC is changing formats

February 2nd, 2009 4 comments

Is the honeymoon over?

After going to bat for GOP support in the House for the Democrat Stimulus Bill, and striking out, are people starting to think that Barry is a bit overrated?  After only about two weeks in office?

Obama Ring-a-ding-ding

Some more evidence that the bloom is off the rose already.  Read all about it at The Washington Post

Liberal Flameout

President Obama may be riding high in Washington, but OBAMA 1260 is not.

The area’s only progressive talk station is changing formats, dropping such syndicated liberal hosts as Ed Schultz, Stephanie Miller and Bill Press in favor of financial news, starting next week.

The move by Redskins owner Dan Snyder, who purchased the station, WWRC, and others in Washington last summer, leaves the city without a liberal radio outlet. Program Director Greg Tantum says he thought the station could work because of enthusiasm over Obama, but that ratings collapsed to a level that could not be measured after the election.

But ratings nearly doubled, he says, at Snyder’s conservative station, WTNT, which features Laura Ingraham and Bill Bennett. Tantum said he will move Schultz to WTNT to give him another shot.

Derby Royal Hospital has an unwelcome guest

Some spooky goings-on over in The United Kingdom.

The Times Online reports…

A friendly ghost steps into a vacation picture.

National Haunted Service: exorcist summoned after spook scares staff at Derby Royal Hospital
by Kaya Burgess

The NHS has long been haunted by the spectre of waiting-lists and tight funding, but is now facing omens of a rather more unsettling kind.

An exorcist has reportedly been summoned to a hospital in Derby after staff saw a ghost prowling the corridors near the morgue.

Managers at the Derby Royal Hospital have received numerous complaints from spooked workers that a figure cloaked in black has been stalking the wards and walking through walls at the site run by the NHS – perhaps to be renamed the National Haunted Service.

In an e-mail to staff, senior manager Debbie Butler reportedly wrote: “I’m not sure how many of you are aware that some members of staff have reported seeing a ghost. I’m taking it seriously as the last thing I want is staff feeling uneasy at work.”

The £334m hospital was erected on the site of the old Derby City General Hospital, which was itself built in the 1920s over the site of an ancient Roman road. That a ghost of a Roman centurion may be stealing quietly through the hospital has understandably unsettled staff.

Ms Butler added: “I don’t want to scare anyone more than necessary, but felt it was best I made you all aware of the situation and what we are doing about it.”

The hospital denied that an official exorcism would be taking place, but a spokeswoman for the Bishop of Derby confirmed that the hospital’s on-site chaplain had contacted the diocese Paranormal Advisor – essentially an exorcist – to assess the situation and reassure spooked staff.

She said: “The sightings will be investigated and appropriate action taken.”

One member of staff said: “Several have seen a male figure cloaked from head to toe in black darting between rooms and through walls – especially in departments near the morgue.”

Dr Rita Pal, who writes for online journal NHS Exposed, said: “The United Kingdom has many hospitals with ghostly stories. Hospitals are, after all, places of where one exits to the ‘other side’. Some ghosts of patients return to haunt their doctors, others simply haunt the wards.”

A spokeswoman for Derby Hospitals NHS Trust said: “We will be talking to staff in the department to listen to their concerns. We respect our staff and always listen to their views to help put minds at ease.”
