In Webb We Trust

It’s no secret that I am a big fan of Jack Webb, having mentioned his classic album ‘You’re My Girl: Romantic Reflections by Jack Webb’ in an earlier post. Well, lots of folks just loved the Nichelle Nichols song a couple of days ago, so I decided to follow up with a memorable tune by Jack Webb.

Jack Webb Sings

One of the most memorable tracks on this classic album is Mr. Webb’s rendition of ‘Try A Little Tenderness.’ Well, I’ve surrendered to popular demand and am sharing this wonderful track with you all! Enjoy!

    Oh Wow, how beautiful! I betcha’ the rest of you are too young to remember Jack Webb singing/rather talking these ultra romantic songs, but I do and he was wonderful. What a wonderful find for anyone to post this song on here, thanks!

    To Vinnie Vegas: You cost me 99 cents + Tax on iTunes (smiles. I just had to own the Jack Webb song after hearing the whole version on your site a gazillion times and listening to the clip over and over in my iTunes last week. Again I add; It’s awesome that an oldie like myself finds one of my favorites, Jack Webb talk/singing on your site and you, a mere young’un, comapred to me. Well who can tell I just might buy all his (few) songs now. You should receive royality fees for the advertisement.

    Wasn’t Jack Webb married to the beautiful sultry Julie London at one time? She was a favorite of mine as a youth too when she torch sang, “Cry Me A River.”

    Love your blog and will eexplore everything.

      NWVeryBerry, I am a big fan of Mr. Webb, and I find his romantic recordings to be wonderful! He is one of my alltime favorite heroes. I love Dragnet and all of Mr. Webb’s creative contributions.

      Yes, Jack Webb was married for several years to the lovely and talented Julie London, and though their marriage failed, Mr. Webb hired her (and her new husband) for his successful TV series, ‘Emergency.’ What a man!

    Ahhhhh, Vinnie Vegas;

    I just had to drop in on you and listen to this sensual voice sing “Try a Little Tenderness!” What a New Year’s Eve treat! I could listen to my own but that would not be as much fun as hearing it on your SSC.

    Happy New Year 2009 and “In Webb We Trust!”
