She brings a lot to the table, but…
Some websites are buzzing today that tv starlet Rachel Bilson (’The OC’) may be writer/director Joss Whedon’s pick for the new big-screen Wonder Woman.

Well, I have to admit that I have never even watched a minute of The OC, so I have never seen Bilson. She is a fine looking young woman, no question about it, but based on the few pictures I have seen she doesn’t seem to have the presence to portray Wonder Woman. Maybe Wonder Girl, but not Wonder Woman.
The articles I have read suggest this young lady beat out Catherine Zeta-Jones, Cameron Diaz and Kate Beckinsale for the role. Frankly this rumor doesn’t have the ring of truth to me. I don’t know who will end up potraying Wonder Woman in a new movie, but I would bet $20 it won’t end up being a relatively lightweight Rachel Bilson.
Just for the heck of it, I’ll take the opportunity to post a pic of the definitive Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter!

Now that’s a Wonder Woman!!!

Bilson is much too fragile to withstand the frequent bondage that her creator, William Marston, so fondly weaved into his stories. And from the looks of it, Lynda Carter could pulverize her with her magic lasso and wonderbra, err, Amazonian technique. ;P

Oh, and lemme pass this lil’ piece of trivia along: “Marston was also the creator of a systolic blood-pressure measuring apparatus, which was crucial to the development of the polygraph (lie detector). Marston’s experience with polygraphs convinced him that women were more honest and reliable than men, and could work more efficiently.” Hmm.

I agree, she is a lightweight and would be a pretty poor Wonder Woman. Keep an eye on this one! Thanks for the 411 on WW’s creator! I learn something new everyday!
